531f (xml) site of frances mcConihe
XML
As more and more data gets (correctly) tagged in xml, and related technologies like namespaces and even infosets come into greater use, computers will have more of a foothold to help us wade through this sea of information we live in. Hopefully, it will not only help us find the information we're looking for, but also allow us to stumble on or discover things we hadn't even considered. Now that is useful.
This site was devoted to the work on eXtensible Markup Language produced by frances mcconihe in the Simmons College 531F XML class, during the spring of 2006. Now that the class has ended, this site is maintained for archival purposes; the homepage has been altered to note that the site has been archived and direct links to the assignments have been added below.

one: resources
two: dtds
- an experimental xml file with an internal dtd, with and without styling
- an xml file with an external dtd, with and without styling
- the external dtd
- (the external css file)
three: schemas
* the schema was validated on www.w3.org/2001/03/webdata/xsv#. everything validated except the targetNamespace attribute and the maxOccurs attribute, but I couldn't figure out why this was happening or how to fix them.
